Ms. Lau Suet Ha, Lottie

講者簡歷:

Ms Lottie Lau received her social work training (B.Soc.Sc.) from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. She obtained her further training in counseling (M.Ed.) from The University of North Texas, where she was formally trained as a play therapist specializing in childcentered approach. With more than 20 years of experience in clinical practice, Ms Lau has accumulated rich experience in working with children and parents. She is particularly keen and well versed in facilitating the healthy growth of children with emotional difficulties by means of play therapy. Being a pioneer of nondirective play therapy training in Hong Kong, Ms Lau has brought the concept of child-centered play therapy to the local scene and laid down the cornerstone of the therapy in the field of child care and counseling in the territory. Over the years, Ms Lau has conducted numerous training programs for helping professionals and parents in the areas of play therapy, counseling, communication skills with children, and working with parents, etc., in addition to her formal teaching in tertiary education. The courses and training offered by Ms Lau have always been positively received and highly commended by participants.

講座摘要:

Introduction This course is a continuation of the basic training program on child-centered play therapy organized by the Department of Social Work of CUHK. It aims to develop greater practice competence in counseling professionals who are interested in using the therapy. Objectives 1. To encourage participants to practise child-centered play therapy with children. 2. To develop participants’ practice competence in using the therapy in the following aspects: (a) sensitivity in identifying children’s significant play behaviours, (b) refinement of micro-skills and techniques, (c) expansion of varieties of facilitative responses, (d) handling of various issues
