CUHK runners strive hard in the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2017

Prof. Joseph Sung and Mr. Daniel Lee, Lecturer of the Department of Sports Science and Physical Education participated in the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2017.

Today (12 February) over 3100 runners from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Marathon team participated the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2017, including many students, staff and alumni. Prof. Joseph Sung, Vice-Chancellor of CUHK also took part in the 10 km race and completed it in 1:07:35 (official record). Mr. Daniel Lee, Lecturer of the Department of Sports Science and Physical Education, CUHK, as a former member of the Hong Kong Triathlon National Squad, completed the half marathon challenge in 1:13:41 (official record) and was awarded the First Runner-up in the Master 1 category.

This year, the CUHK marathon team was the second largest team in the competition and received the ‘Most Supportive Group Award’ for the fifth consecutive year. Over 400 CUHK cheerers gave their support at several cheering spots along the racing routes.
