Professor Peter Salovey, President of Yale University to Present 70th Anniversary Lecture of New Asia College, CUHKAll are Welcome

The President of Yale University, Professor Peter Salovey will not be able to come to Hong Kong as scheduled. In view of this, we regret to announce cancellation of the 70th Anniversary Lecture of New Asia College to be held at 4:30pm on Tuesday, 19 March, at Lecture Theatre 1, Ground Floor, Yasumoto International Academic Park. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused.
New Asia College of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is honoured to have Professor Peter Salovey, President of Yale University and Chris Argyris Professor of Psychology to deliver a public lecture during his stay in Hong Kong. Professor Salovey is a celebrated social psychologist. He studies the connections among emotion, health communication and health behaviour, with a special focus on “emotional intelligence”.
The lecture will be held on Tuesday, 19 March and conducted in English. Members of the public are welcome to attend.
Topic: Emotional Intelligence in the Lab, Workplace, and Classroom
As early pioneers in “emotional intelligence”, Professor Peter Salovey, together with Professor John D. Mayer, developed a broad framework in this field. The theory is that just as people have a wide range of intellectual abilities, they also have a wide range of measurable emotional skills that profoundly affect their thinking and action in all aspects of their lives, including in the lab, workplace, and classroom.
