ExCo Convenor Mr. Lam Woon-kwong Lectures at CUHK Today
The Honourable Lam Woon-kwong, Convenor of the Non-official Members of the Executive Council of the Hong Kong Special Administrated Region, delivered a lecture entitled ‘The Mutiny on HMS Bounty in 1789: A Justifiable Rebellion?’ to some 1,400 students at an Assembly of Shaw College of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) today (23 October).
The lecture is part of the General Education Programme of the Shaw College, which aims to enrich and broaden students’ exposure as well as to encourage intellectual interaction between students and teachers across all the academic disciplines. To strengthen its General Education Programme, the Shaw College has been inviting social leaders to speak on their expertise and life experience with its students. The Honourable Mrs. Anson Chan, former Chief Secretary for Administration; The Honourable Jasper Tsang Yok-sing, President of the Legislative Council; Mrs. Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, Chief Secretary; the Honourable Rita Fan Hsu Lai-tai, Member of the Standing Committee of the Eleventh National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China; the Honourable Leung Chun-ying, Chief Executive; the Honourable Henry Tang Ying-yen, former Chief Secretary for Administration; the Honourable Wong Yan-lung, former Secretary for Justice; the Honourable John Tsang Chun-wah, Financial Secretary; and the Honourable Donald Tsang, former Chief Executive, had shared their views on leadership in previous lectures. Other speakers included Mr. Dick Lee, former Commissioner of Police of HKSAR who lectured on ‘Smooth on the surface, firm at heart—The Art of Leadership’ as well as Ms. Lee Lok-sze who spoke on the issue of global warming.
