CUHK Vice-Chancellor Joseph Sung Joins in the World Cup Fever at the University Mall with 1,500 Campus Members
Prof. Joseph J.Y. Sung, Vice-Chancellor of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and 1,500 teachers, students, alumni and friends gathered at the University Mall in the wee hours of this morning (14 July) to watch a live broadcast of the World Cup Final between Germany and Argentina. Along with Professor Sung, Prof. Fok Tai-fai and Prof. Michael Hui, Pro-Vice-Chancellors, and Mr. Eric Ng, Registrar and University Secretary also turned out to enjoy the fun-filled atmosphere.
The event began with a soccer skills performance by the CUHK Soccer Team. Alumnus Mr. Allan Au Ka-lun was invited to be the MC, while Prof. Ma Ngok and Mr. Ivan Choy Chi-keung from the Department of Government and Public Administration were the guest commentators. Professor Sung also presented an autographed football to a lucky audience member in the lucky draw session.
