The Chinese University of Hong Kong Rowing Team (CUHK Rowing) recently attained impressive results at the HILX Challenge Cup Hong Kong Universities Rowing Championships 2024. The team swept up a total of 11 medals, four golds, four silvers and three bronzes, while also winning the Men’s Overall Champion and the Women’s First Runners-up titles. They were also crowned Overall Champion based on their accumulated points.

Dr Elean Leung Fung-lin, Director of CUHK’s Physical Education Unit, said: “I am immensely proud of CUHK Rowing’s remarkable performance at the competition. They trained hard throughout the summer to prepare for the event, and finally got the rewards they deserved. I am honoured to witness their growth and success, and hope that this will inspire all student-athletes to win glory for the University and create more brilliant achievements.”

Hong Kong Universities Rowing Championships is held annually and open to rowers from universities in Hong Kong. This year, the competition was held from August 24 to 25. In addition to CUHK, other participating institutions include City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Baptist University, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Lingnan University, the Education University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the University of Hong Kong (in alphabetical order).
