CUHK presents Vice-Chancellor’s Exemplary Teaching Award 2007to Nine Outstanding Teachers
The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is committed to excellence in teaching. Starting from 1999, the Vice-Chancellor’s Exemplary Teaching Award has been given annually to exemplary teachers from the faculties in recognition of their outstanding teaching performance. This year nine awardees were presented this prestigious award by Vice-Chancellor Professor Lawrence J. Lau at the Vice-Chancellor’s Exemplary Teaching Award Presentation Ceremony 2007 held on 3 June 2008. The nine recipients are:

‧Professor T. J. WONG, School of Accountancy, Faculty of Business Administration
‧Dr. CHAN Tak Yau, Physical Education Unit, Faculty of Education
‧Professor CHANG Ming Yuen Michael, Department of Information Engineering, Faculty of Engineering
‧Professor WU Che Yuen Justin, Department of Medicine and Therapeutics, Faculty of Medicine
‧Professor GE Wei, Department of Biology, Faculty of Science
‧Professor Louis LEUNG, School of Journalism and Communication, Faculty of Social Science
‧Professor Lutz-Christian WOLFF, School of Law
‧Dr. WONG Wing Hung, Department of Physics (Nominated by the Senate Committee on General Education)
The exemplary teachers were nominated by their respective departments based on their teaching performance, peer review and course evaluation. The departmental nominees were then presented to the Faculty level for screening and not more than three nominees from each Faculty will be submitted to the Vice-Chancellor for the award. Each awardee is presented a certificate and a gold medal. A total of 56 awardees were given the award in the past eight years, some of which received the award more than once in recognition of their continued outstanding teaching performance.
