CUHK Information Day to be held this Saturday, introducing the latest admissions information
The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) will hold its Information Day for Undergraduate Admissions this Saturday (21 October). The Information Day will provide the latest admission and programme information, and will open up the faculty and college facilities to give students, parents and teachers a better understanding of CUHK. In this important year that marks the 60th anniversary of CUHK, the University aspires to engage with and let members of the public know more about the unique and transformative CUHK experience.
Talks on new programme and admission provide useful information
CUHK will organise an introductory talk on the new Aerospace Science and Earth Informatics + X Double Major Programme jointly introduced by CUHK and The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen), letting students who are interested in pursuing a career in leading national organisations that focus on development in the Greater Bay Area find out more about the programme. The new programme is expected to be launched in 2024 after approval by the Senate. To suit the needs of students from different backgrounds, the talks will include the Non-JUPAS schemes for applicants with sub-degree or overseas qualifications and for applicants from the mainland, to be conducted in Cantonese, English and Putonghua.
Highlights among the diversified programmes
Highlighted programmes this year include the Admission Talk for JUPAS Applicants: Face to Face with CUHKers, a special panel discussion where Professor Andy Wong, Director of Admissions and Financial Aid, Ms Angel Ng, Head of North Asia and Australia, Cluster and Banking, Citi, Professor Anthony So, Professor in the Department of Systems Engineering and Engineering Management and Dean of Graduate School Office, Professor Justin Wu, Associate Dean (Health Systems) of Faculty of Medicine and the Chairman of CUHK Medical Services, and CUHK students will give their opinions on education, JUPAS admission and choosing major studies; an interview skills workshop; and exhibitions in the University Mall that display works by different CUHK units including the Co-operative Education Programme and Student Exchange @CUHK.
CUHK’s Faculties of Arts, Business Administration, Education, Engineering, Law, Medicine, Science and Social Science will introduce their departments and programmes with exhibitions, admission talks, and laboratory and facility visits featuring various demonstrations. Some faculties will also arrange workshops, mini-lectures, and sharings of current CUHK students or alumni on what life is like at the University.
Opening of college and CUHK facilities
CUHK’s unique college system offers students a harmonious learning environment, strengthening their whole-person development and enriching their learning experience. All of its nine colleges will introduce their culture and features with exhibitions at the event. Students and parents will also be able to visit the colleges’ hostels, history galleries, multimedia centres and sports and leisure amenities. Guided tours will also be arranged of the University Library and other libraries.
