A special panel discussion session, Admission Talk for JUPAS Applicants: Face to Face with CUHKers, kicked off the Information Day. Introducing the new collaborative double major programme between CUHK and CUHK (Shenzhen)

With the aim of contributing to the talent pool in the Greater Bay Area, CUHK and The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) expect to jointly launch the new Aerospace Science and Earth Informatics + X Double Major Programme in 2024/25. Two introductory talks on the new programme were given on the Information Day, attracting a great deal of interest from students and parents.

CUHK destination of choice for high achievers

CUHK is always the top choice for high-achieving students. The University has admitted, through JUPAS, 3,218 students who sat for the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) examination this year. The intake is impressive: over 99% of them are Band A students. CUHK has admitted over half of Hong Kong’s top 100 elite students in their best five HKDSE subjects and in the number of Levels 5** and Level 5* attained, representing the highest proportion among all JUPAS-participating institutions in Hong Kong. The median admission score of each programme has been uploaded to the University’s website for next year’s JUPAS applicants’ reference.

CUHK has also admitted about 600 non-local students this year. They include students from 31 mainland provinces and municipalities, Macao and Taiwan, as well as 21 countries and regions including Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Brazil, Canada, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Myanmar, New Zealand, the Philippines, Portugal, Russia, South Africa, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Thailand, the US and Vietnam. With diverse academic backgrounds, the non-JUPAS applicants who have been admitted this year possess outstanding qualifications that are eligible internationally or locally, such as IB, SAT, GCE A-Level and GSAT.
