CUHK holds National Day flag-raising ceremony to commemorate the 74th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China
The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) today held a flag-raising ceremony to celebrate the 74th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
The ceremony started at 10:30am at the flag-hoisting platform of Central Steps. The flag-raising was performed by the student flag guards of CUHK. The national flag was raised alongside the HKSAR flag and the CUHK flag to a rendition of the national anthem.
CUHK is honoured to have had about 160 guests attend the flag-raising ceremony, including Council Chairman Professor John Chai Yat-chiu, Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Rocky S. Tuan, Liaison Office of the Leading Group for Beijing Talent Affairs’ Executive Director Mr Wang Xuanhua and Deputy Director Ms Chang Xueying, Honorary Professor of CUHK’s Faculty of Social Science Professor Jasper Tsang Yok-sing, GBM, Council members, senior management team members, representatives from Colleges and Faculties, staff, students and alumni of the University.
