Event Details:
Rocks look dull and boring at a distance, but they are colorful and even display tectonic evolution when we zoom in to the rocks. Without damaging anything in the thin section, observing a rock sample under petrographic microscope provides scientists information to further examine minerals, as well as the rock sample, quickly at low cost. This talk will share scientific interpretation of rocks under microscope and admire the colorful world of rocks.
