“Life in Watercolours – Recent Paintings by Fu Man Yat” is now exhibited at the Chung Chi College Administration Building.
Fu Man Yat, a lover of fine art since his childhood, engages himself in painting and art education. He currently teaches watercolor courses at The Chinese University of Hong Kong’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies (CUSCS). His works have been exhibited in more than 20 countries in Europe, America, and Asia. He has also received numerous awards, including the Honorable Mention Award in the International Watercolor Biennale India (2017), the Special Prize in the Poland International Watercolor Competition (2019) and the Silver Award at the Third Asia Pacific Art Biennial Exhibition (2020).
Everyday scenes of life and ordinary people are repeated motifs in his works. Embracing beauty in the ordinary, his paintings are stories that record fleeting moments in life. This exhibition will showcase about 50 of his paintings created in the past five years. Subjects of these paintings are mostly related to Hong Kong, such as figures, landscapes, flowers, still lives and animals.
