The environment fair is an annual signature event of Gaia that brings joy and green messages to the public. The theme of the 2016 fair is ‘climate change and biodiversity’. An original play presented by the Jockey Club Museum of Climate Change, The Drama of Climate Change, will have its first public performance at the fair. All members of the public are welcome. Admission is free.
The opening of the Environment Fair cum MoCC Roadshow 2016 will be held on 23 April (Saturday) at 1:30 pm. Dr Ko Wing-man, Secretary for Food and Health of the HKSAR Government, Mr Leong Cheung, Executive Director, Charities and Community of The Hong Kong Jockey Club, Professor Fok Tai-fai, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of CUHK and Chairman of the Steering Committee of Gaia, Dr Rebecca Lee, Founder of Polar Museum Foundation, and Professor Fung Tung, Associate Vice-President of CUHK, will officiate at the opening ceremony.
Interactive information and game booths of the theme ‘climate change and biodiversity’ are available at the two-day fair. The new MoCC virtual tour will encourage the public to explore how climate change affects people’s lives. On 23 April, aside from interactive information and games booths, there will be green demos and the renowned Chung Ying Theatre Company will perform two interactive drama shows.
