Dr. Haishan WU
Dr. Haishan Wu is the deputy general manager of AI Department in WeBank. Prior to that, he was the Director and AI scientist in BlackRock, and the lead data scientist in Baidu. He earned his PhD degree at Fudan University in 2011. He later was the postdoc researcher at Princeton University. He was recognized as 35 Innovators Under 35 in China by MIT Technology Review in 2017. He was also recognized as Top 50 data scientists in China in 2018.
Sensors are ubiquitous in our daily life, from smartphones, wearable devices, internet of things, micro-satellites to self-driving cars in the future. We propose a new concept named Senseable Economics, which is about sensing the real-time dynamics of economic system by analyzing massive sensor data. In this talk, we will show how we use this concept to demystify China’s economy, gauge the impact of Covid and tackle climate change.
