Dr. Angela Ching Chi, TAMPresident of the Hong Kong Church Music Association (HKCMA)
Dr. Angela Ching Chi, TAM graduated from the Music Department, the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) with a major field in organ performance. She is recipient of numerous scholarships and has further her studies at the Royal School of Church Music in England. She obtained a Master of Music degree from the Ohio State University (double major in church music/organ performance and choral conducting) and a Doctoral of Musical Arts degree in Choral Conducting from the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music in the United States. Upon her return to Hong Kong, she was appointed Head of Church Music Department for the Alliance Bible Seminary (ABS). During her tenure at the seminary, she also completed a Master of Divinity degree at Chung Chi Divinity School, CUHK, as well as being a Senior Fellow for one year at the Institute of Sacred Music, Worship and the Arts of the Divinity School, Yale University. Dr. Tam has faithfully served at the ABS for 24 years. Since her early retirement, Dr. Tam is President of the Hong Kong Church Music Association (HKCMA) and has found the first church music resource center in Asia. God’s call has led Dr. Tam to focus on opening up resources in sacred music and worship in Chinese, founding a Master program in Sacred Music and Worship Studies, nurturing new generation of teachers and clergies in sacred music and worship, and also publishing worship resources in Chinese.
