Biography of Speaker:

Professor Anthony Smith is Vice-Provost (Faculties) at University College London (UCL), one of the leading universities in the UK. He is responsible for the alignment of UCL’s 11 Faculties and UCL East with the university’s institutional strategy. Prior to his current appointment in 2021, Professor Smith served as Vice-Provost (Education and Student Affairs) for nine years, taking the strategic lead for all matters related to education and the wider student experience. Before joining UCL, he was Principal and Dean of the School of Pharmacy at the University of London. He obtained his Bachelor of Pharmacy and PhD degrees from the University of Bath.

Having served in UCL’s leadership team for over 10 years, Professor Smith will share his experience in driving the institution’s education strategy, including curriculum innovation, quality assurance, new teaching pedagogies, as well as career frameworks, which has played a critical role in enhancing student success and supporting UCL’s development.
