Mourning Former President Jiang Zemin
Dear students and colleagues,
The memorial service for Former President of the People’s Republic of China, Mr Jiang Zemin, will be held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing at 10am on Tuesday 6 December 2022. During the mourning session, people across the country will observe three minutes of silence as a mark of respect to the late President Jiang’s contribution to the nation.
Accordingly, staff and students of the Chinese University of Hong Kong are requested to observe three minutes of silence, starting from 10am on 6 December. As a further mark of respect, all official events scheduled for tomorrow will be cancelled.
Staff and students are encouraged to watch the RTHK’s livestream of the memorial service which will be broadcast tomorrow morning.
Your attention and cooperation is highly appreciated at this moment of national mourning.
