CUHK achievements 2024

2024 is the year marking the completion of a year-long series of diamond jubilee celebrations. The year under review was one of immense significance to the University. We ran a rich programme of anniversary celebratory events until end June 2024, engaging not only the CUHK community but also members of the general public, showcasing the essence of the University’s 60 years of remarkable achievements was rooted in the collective efforts of talented CUHK members and our friends from the wider community.

This year saw one of the University’s strongest rankings performances ever. In QS World University Rankings, CUHK has achieved a significant milestone by ranking 36th globally. The achievement represents an impressive 11-place leap from last year’s ranking, marking CUHK’s best performance in the league table since it started in 2010. In the Best Global Universities Rankings by U.S. News & World Report, CUHK has attained the top position in Hong Kong for the second consecutive year, and risen to a record high of 42nd in the world. It has been placed 44th in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, soaring nine spots from last year, and it is the highest ever position since the rankings were launched.

2024 also saw the CUHK community ascend to new heights in education, research, innovation and entrepreneurship. Over 950 faculty members and around 1,300 students have gained national, local, and global recognition.
