CUHK Implements Disinfection and Disease Prevention Measures over a Staff Member Preliminarily Tested Positive with COVID-19 Infection
The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) has been informed yesterday (20 August) evening that a staff member who works at the University Administration Building has been preliminarily tested positive for COVID-19 infection. The staff member has been sent to hospital for treatment and quarantine.
The University was informed earlier that this staff member had been identified as a close contact of another confirmed case of COVID-19 infection. The office of this staff member has been closed since August 17 and thorough disinfection was carried out. The staff member and relating colleagues have been working from home since then and have not returned to the office.
For health and safety concerns, the University will thoroughly disinfect the office involved again and implement disease prevention measures.
The University is closely communicating with the Centre for Health Protection to follow up with the case.
Should staff and students have any enquiries, please contact the University Health Service at 3943 6436.
