Event Details:

Various ethical issues have arisen from the COVID-19 pandemic: who should receive scarce medical resources? Should the utilitarian objective of promoting public health override non-utilitarian values, such as liberty and autonomy, privacy and confidentiality, transparency and trust, and justice and fairness? How should we determine whether to adopt the policy of herd immunity, whether to reopen the economy, and whether the wearing of masks in public should be made mandatory? These sets of bioethical issues will be addressed in the presentations.
