CUHK Holds Chinese New Year Media Reception Today
Professor Rocky S. Tuan, Vice-Chancellor and President, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), hosted a Chinese New Year Media Reception at the Vice-Chancellor’s Lodge today (25 February) together with Pro-Vice-Chancellors and Faculty Deans.
During his speech, Professor Tuan introduced the University’s eleven future plans to the media, including: (1) the Greater Bay Area initiatives, (2) the expansion of the Faculty of Medicine, CUHK, (3) the Faculty of Medicine at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen), (4) participation in the Innovation Hong Kong, (5) new programmes in information technology, (6) new double degrees programmes, (7) strengthen the engagement with alumni, (8) positive campus, (9) CUHK Medical Centre, (10) new hostels, and (11) the 55th anniversary of CUHK.
Highlights of the event included a brilliant music show performed by the Chinese Music Society of New Asia College, CUHK, and a demonstration of a cable-driven laser cutting robot. Wooden book marks produced by the robot were given out to those attending, with the hope of bringing fortune to everyone in the Year of the Pig.
