CUHK United College and Jonathan KS Choi Foundation present ’Music Encounter Series • Cellist Trey Lee’
The ‘Music Encounter Series • Cellist Trey Lee‘ is jointly organized by United College, The Chinese University of Hong Kong and Jonathan K S Choi Foundation, and supported by Musicus Society. The event was held on Friday, 17 April 2015 from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Lecture Theatre 6, Lee Shau Kee Building, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Over 400 United College students, staff members and guests attended the musical performance.
Mr Trey Lee is the first Hong Kong born Chinese to win the International Antonio Janigro Cello Competition, Lee works with esteemed international conductors and orchestras such as the late Lorin Maazel, Yuri Bashmet, Tan Dun, Bright Sheng, Moscow Soloists and Philharmonia Orchestra of London. He is often invited to appear at major venues around the world, most recently at New York’s UN General Assembly Hall with Yoko Ono and Hugh Jackman to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
A co-founder and Artistic Director of Musicus, Lee established the groundbreaking Musicus Fest. In 2012, UNICEF Hong Kong appointed Lee as an ambassador.
A galaxy of art and cultural activities are organized by the United College to foster art and culture appreciation on campus. It is the first time United College and Jonathan K S Choi Foundation jointly invite renowned musician to conduct a performance in CUHK, which aim at promoting art appreciation and creativity on campus.
