The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and the University of Hong Kong (HKU) held the 12th Vice-Chancellor’s Cup Soccer Match at the Sir Philip Haddon-Cave Sports Field at CUHK today (22 March). Officiating at the kick-off ceremony were Prof. Joseph J.Y. Sung, CUHK Vice-Chancellor and President and Prof. Peter Mathieson, HKU President and Vice-Chancellor.  The game ended in a 0:0 draw.

The Vice-Chancellor’s Cup Soccer Match was first played in 2003 to commemorate the collaboration of the two universities during the SARS ordeal.  Including the game today, CUHK has won seven games, HKU has won one, and the teams have tied four times.
