陳偉儀於80年代加入電影編劇行列，後來又當過電台的節目監製，在1996年成為全職作家，1998年以「陳慧」為筆名出版小說《拾香紀》，獲第五屆中文文學雙年獎。其他小說作品有《四季歌》、《好味道》和《愛情戲》等。此外，陳慧亦有參與劇集和舞台劇編寫工作，現職香港演藝學院電影電視學院高級講師。
