CUHK’s innovative materials science research published in the special issue of the international journal Advanced Materials
The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) has published a special issue titled CUHK 60th Anniversary in the international journal Advanced Materials. This issue compiles 26 articles on materials science by outstanding researchers from CUHK and CUHK-Shenzhen, highlighting the University’s excellence and innovative breakthroughs in the field of materials science.
The special issue features nine research articles and 17 review articles, covering a wide range of topics including nanomedicine, tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, biosensing, soft robotics, smart devices, nanofabrication, energy saving and storage, catalysis, spintronics, soft electronics and neuromorphic computing.
Professor Mao Chuanbin, guest editor of the special issue, Director of JC STEM Lab of Nature-inspired Precision Medical Engineering and Professor of the Department of Biomedical Engineering at CUHK, wrote an editorial article titled ‘Advanced Materials Research at CUHK: From Biomedicine to Electronics and Beyond’. He said: “I am honoured to have the opportunity to organise this special issue, showcasing the outstanding research achievements of my colleagues at CUHK in the field of materials science. These works demonstrate the strength of CUHK’s research teams in both fundamental and applied fields, making significant contributions to the global development of materials science. This special issue not only commemorates our 60th anniversary but also symbolises CUHK’s legacy of excellence which continues to thrive into the future.”
