Prof. Hon-ching Lee is a renowned US-based artist specializing in sculpture and printmaking. In 2005, he established the Hop Wai Art and Cultural Programme to enhance CUHK teachers’ and students’ understanding of Chinese and foreign arts through visiting artists, exhibitions, and lectures. He has also presented his works in the Programme several times. His creativity has remained undiminished after turning 80, as he continually draws inspiration and joy from life, expressing his feelings through art. The exhibition will feature around 50 pieces of Prof. Lee’s recent works, showcasing his free-spirited mindset, and his heartfelt, ingenious ideas.
Over two decades, Prof. Lee built deep bonds with many dedicated educators at CUHK, including Dr. Yung Kung Hing, Senior College Tutor of Chung Chi College. In memory of Dr. Yung, who passed away in December 2024, Prof. Lee generously donated his exhibits to support the establishment of “Dr. K.H. Yung Memorial Scholarship”, extending Dr. Yung’s love and care to students. Donors contributing a designated amount will receive an exhibit as a gift; details are available in the gallery.
