The Conference was co-chaired by Professor Péter Baranyi, professor at the Corvinus Institute for Advanced Studies and AI Institutes of Corvinus University, and Professor Yam Yeung. Some of the world’s most reputed professors and scholars shared their insights during the plenary talks. There was also an AI technology exhibition showcasing latest research results and innovative products from nearly 60 exhibitors, including 14 companies, universities and research institutes from CUHK Shenzhen Research Institute, as well as major AI-research teams and companies from Hungary. Business exchange sessions were arranged for Hungarian AI startups, university research teams and delegations from Chinese companies at CUHK Shenzhen Research Institute.

The Conference is the first co-hosted activity of the Academic and Innovation Matrix cooperation agreement signed by CUHK Shenzhen Research Institute and Corvinus University on 6 March 2024. The agreement aims to strengthen cooperation in academic, scientific, technological and talent training, and jointly foster the development of China-Hungary in the areas of science and technology. It will help coordinate joint innovation, incubation, investment and commercialisation for Hungarian and Chinese research outcomes, creating opportunities for startups in both countries entering each other’s market. Additionally, two parties will cooperate for large-scale research projects to solve scientific problems and explore cutting-edge technologies. Well aligned with the Belt and Road Initiative, the agreement will help foster resource and infrastructure development for a better future. Looking ahead, both parties will continue to work together to explore the infinite possibilities of AI technology and write a new chapter for China-Hungary scientific and technological development.
