Biography of Speaker:

Prof. Liu Yu received her Ph.D. in Political Science from Columbia University. She is currently an associate professor in the Department of Political Science at Tsinghua University. Her research and teaching interests include comparative democratization, political culture and Chinese politics. She has published in journals such as Democratization, Modern China, China Quarterly etc. Her publications include The Day After: Gains, Losses and Choices of New Democracies (2023), The Art of the Possible: 30 Lectures on Comparative Politics (2022) and several collections of political columns in China.

‧Free seating is made on a first-come-first-served basis.
‧Visitors without a CU Link card are still required to register details of their Hong Kong ID cards (or other identification documents). Alumni can present CUHK Library Cards or CUHK Alumni Credit Cards at the campus entrance.
‧Admission for registered participants will start 30 minutes before the event. Please reserve ample time for registration at the University entrance (if necessary).
‧Hand sanitiser will be provided at the venue entrance for participants.
‧Walk-in registration is not available.
