CUHK holds flag-raising ceremony on its Foundation Day in celebration of its 60th anniversary
The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) was founded on 17 October 1963, and this year marks its 60th anniversary. In celebration of its diamond jubilee, the University held a flag-raising ceremony on its Foundation Day today.
The ceremony started at 8:30am at CUHK’s flagpoles. The flag-raising was performed by CUHK’s student flag guards. The CUHK flag was raised alongside the national flag and the HKSAR flag to a rendition of the national anthem.
About 100 guests attended the flag-raising ceremony, including CUHK Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Rocky S. Tuan, Deputy Director General of the Office for Safeguarding National Security of the Central People’s Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Mr Wang Wenxian, Director and President of the Beijing-Hong Kong Academic Exchange Center Mr Hsu Hoi Shan, CUHK Council members, senior management team members, representatives from Colleges and Faculties, staff, students and alumni of the University.
