The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is hosting the Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine International Society – Asia Pacific Conference 2023 (2023 TERMIS-AP) from 16 to 19 October. It is one of the most influential academic conferences in the field of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine in the Asia-Pacific region. Close to 1,000 renowned professors, academicians and industry experts from around the world are attending the conference to exchange scientific knowledge, discuss the latest research, and explore advancements in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.

Officiating guests at the opening ceremony include: Professor Anthony S. Weiss, TERMIS President; Professor Zhang Shengmin, Continental Chair, TERMIS-AP Chapter; Professor Rocky S. Tuan, Vice-Chancellor and President of CUHK; Professor Chan Wai-yee, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of CUHK; Professor Daniel Lee, Associate Vice-President of CUHK; Professor Qin Ling, Choh-Ming Li Professor of Orthopaedics and Traumatology and Assistant Dean (Mainland Affairs) of CU Medicine; Professor Raymond Tong, Professor of CUHK’s Department of Biomedical Engineering; Professor Patrick Yung, Chairman and Professor of CU Medicine’s Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology; Professor Li Gang, Professor of CU Medicine’s Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology; and Professor Alan Li, Assistant Professor of CUHK’s Department of Biomedical Engineering.

Professor Rocky S. Tuan said, “Tissue engineering and regenerative medicine hold the promise of revolutionising global healthcare and improving the lives of millions around the world. CUHK is proud to stand at the forefront of this transformative field and this conference, as a signature event of our 60th anniversary, is testament to the unique convening power of Hong Kong to gather such a large and diverse group of scholars from the mainland and around the world. In the post-pandemic world, I urge all of us – scientists, engineers, and clinicians, who are custodians of new knowledge, to collaborate and bring about innovative solutions for the world’s health challenges.”

The 2023 TERMIS-AP’s theme is “New Vista of Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine”. Throughout the four-day conference, participants can engage in a variety programme of plenary lectures, discussion sessions, presentations and exhibitions. The comprehensive programme covers various topics, including tissue engineering, stem cell therapies, biomaterials and clinical applications. Attendees have the opportunity to network, forge new collaborations, and gain valuable insights from esteemed speakers and panellists.
