The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and The Human Resources and Social Security Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality (SZ-HRSSB) formalised their collaboration by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) and unveiling a plaque marking the Hong Kong and Macao Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base (CUHK) at a ceremony yesterday (13 July). The MoU signing and plaque unveiling signify the start of joint efforts between the two parties in innovation and entrepreneurship, employment promotion and talent exchange.

Mr Zhao Zhongliang, Director of SZ-HRSSB, said at the ceremony, “By signing this MoU, we are establishing an innovation and entrepreneurship platform for Hong Kong and Macao youth. We will cooperate in nine areas across innovation, employment and talent exchange. Our goals are to build a platform for mutual support and coordinated development to provide comprehensive services for graduates and entrepreneurial teams wanting jobs or funding in Shenzhen, and to optimise the environment for Shenzhen and Hong Kong youth to interact and integrate.”

Professor Chan Wai-yee warmly welcomed the representatives from SZ-HRSSB, saying on behalf of CUHK, “The signing of the MoU and unveiling of the Hong Kong and Macau Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base mark a new milestone in CUHK and Shenzhen’s partnership in innovation, entrepreneurship and talent development. The two organisations complement each other well, providing comprehensive support services for Hong Kong and Macao youth interested in employment and entrepreneurship. The partnership will inject new power into scientific and technological innovation and development, transforming innovation and entrepreneurship outcomes in the Greater Bay Area.”

CUHK and SZ-HRSSB will use their respective advantages and resources to cooperate in depth in areas such as innovation and entrepreneurship competitions, project promotions, policy and industry docking, and provide comprehensive support for the youth in CUHK and Hong Kong in innovation, entrepreneurship and employment development.
