The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) held the annual Joint College Activity today (30 August) to foster in new students a sense of belonging to the University and the colleges.  About 2,000 newly enrolled students of different colleges marched to the University Mall from their campuses.  They then joined together to chant slogans and form a gigantic symbol ‘CU17HK’ to show their solidarity.

Prof. Vivian Lee, Chairman of the Joint Committee on New Student Orientation said, ‘The college system is a proud characteristic of CUHK.  Through the joint college activities, I hope the new students can get a taste of the unique culture of their affiliated colleges, and experience the friendly spirit among the colleges of CUHK.  I believe that the new students will pass on this precious tradition to coming generations.’
