CUHK Faculty of Engineering Honours 25 Distinguished Alumni



On the occasion of its silver jubilee, the Faculty of Engineering of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) was proud to honour 25 of its distinguished alumni whose achievements in their professional fields have made a remarkable impact on the University and society.  The Awards Presentation Ceremony was officiated at by Dr. CHAN Yau Nam Ian, Director and General Manager of Ping Shan Enterprise Co Ltd, and the Chairman of the Federation of Hong Kong Chiu Chow Community Organizations.  Over 300 guests, alumni, students and staff members attended and shared the joy of the recipients.

The Faculty has nurtured over 16,000 engineering professionals since its inception.  The awarded alumni come from different fields and have set very good examples to the Faculty.  Prof. WONG Ching Ping, Dean of Engineering, extended his congratulations to the alumni and said at the ceremony, ‘With a history of 25 years, the Faculty is committed to the education of future leaders in technology, the betterment of the engineering curriculum, and the application of technology to meet human and societial needs.  We are delighted to salute the 25 distinguished alumni and hope our future generations will be enlightened to make a difference with their engineering skills and knowledge.’  

The selection panel was chaired by Prof. YAO Chi-chih Andrew, Distinguished Professor-at-Large of CUHK.  Members of the panel include Prof. CHING Pak Chung, Department of Electronic Engineering, Prof. YEUNG Wai Ho Raymond, Department of Information Engineering, Prof. YAM Yeung, Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering, and Prof. WONG Kam Fai, Department of Systems Engineering and Engineering Management.
